Fashion & style comes from knowing who you are & who you want to be in the world. It does not come from wanting to be somebody else. Many women that we admire in life are not always the most beautiful but they have an incredible amount of self-confidence. They show us true beauty by simply believing in themselves. What I admire the most is that they don’t let anyone else define who they are - they are defined by themselves. Confidence is captivating, it is powerful and it does not fade. This is the most important step to style - to project this kind of confidence. People won’t remember what you wore yesterday but they will remember who you are.
When it comes to fashion - you are your own muse. You dress up for yourself and nobody else! Don’t live your life trying to be someone else, wanting to be thinner, shorter, taller, or prettier. It’s not that you don’t care about your looks - it’s that you embrace all of you including your flaws. Your imperfections can become your greatest strengths - what defines your character & spirit. People don’t truly fall in love with perfection - they fall in love with those that are authentic & those that are willing to be real, showing their imperfections.
Create the style that fits you and wear it with confidence. I always tell clients that if you can’t wear that outfit with confidence - don’t buy it. The outfit is only half the equation. If you don’t think it looks good on you - nobody else will either. It begins with you.
Action Steps:
Daily affirm who you are with positive thoughts.
Purge your closet of any clothing that doesn’t make you confident when you wear it.
Embrace your flaws - be okay with the imperfect.
Be present with your thoughts: Anytime you notice yourself comparing - stop those thoughts and think of one thing that you are thankful about yourself
These are small steps but if you daily work on them you will become content in “You” which will portray confidence to the world.
